Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and never miss an update. I will be publishing stories from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries which bring attention to various aspects of Irish history in the Age of Revolutions. While not academic in nature, each newsletter will be researched using credited historiography, accompanied by more general and accessible ‘further reading’ recommendations.

Here at Ireland and the Age of Revolution you will find three separate sections across the top toolbar. I have the main one, under which you will find everything I post from across each section. This will be home to more lengthy and dedicated posts about specific topics. There is Primary Sources, this is where I post letters or extracts from documents which reflect on the period from the people who lived it. Finally there is one for a man called William F. Jackson, a man who I have been researching for some time and have decided to use this space as an outlet to help articulate and organise my research on him. My overarching goal is to construct a biography of his life, something not yet attempted.

Stay up-to-date

You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox, if you prefer you can also use the SubStack app to follow along and limit any more email clutter. I aim to have a new blog post out every 3 weeks - at some point in the future I plan to have mutli-part series, in which case they may be published more frequently.

Where to find me?

You can find me on twitter @AoRIreland and email at eighteenthcenturyruairi@gmail.com. I do strongly encourage you to leave a comment on a post though, as it helps boost my reach and lets my blog reach a wider audience!
